WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
For our business unit Taste, location Tilburg, we are looking for a (Junior) Process Engineer for the Spray Drying department. This role reports to the Quality Control and Process Engineering Manager. Together with 4 enthusiastic colleagues you are responsible for developing and improving production processes (product and equipment) with respect to optimization of (food) safety, product quality, yield, cost, capacity and reproducibility. To be successful in this role you like to report and communicate findings from research into products. By instructing and advising the production staff and management regarding problems in the process, you work closely together on safety, quality, and output. We expect you to (pro-)actively share your advice. Your analytical and communicating skills helps you to consult with QC/QA regarding the quality status of the end products. Finally, you like to cooperate with others and will participate in multidisciplinary project teams. Tasks- Introduce new products to the relevant production unit.
- Perform structured research into the Root Cause of rejected products and record this in a structured manner in SAP.
- Discuss and communicate about Root Cause Analysis internally.
- In case of repeating rejections, make a fact-based proposal for a project-based approach in collaboration with production/Quality Assurance/Quality Control/Development.
- Manage the use of (possibly rejected) raw materials in production and advice on the use of specific lots of raw materials to prevent quality problems.
- Advice production on rework of products with a quality deviation.
- Improve production-methods by data-analyses and use of continuous improvement tools (6-sigma, Lean, 5S, SPC, etc.). Translate this in a distinct recipe to guarantee a robust and reproducible production method.
- Trouble shoot in cooperation with production employees to prevent quality deviations.
- Contribute to project-based activities to be able to make structural improvements to processes (recipes and equipment).
Key Responsibilities
- responsible for timely handling New Product Introductions (NPI), taking process capabilities and save working instruction into account
- responsible for Root Cause Investigation in a timely matter
- Escalating structural issues and come with proposals to the production manager to implement improvements
- (Pro-)actively advise the production manager on safety, quality and output
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor title in the field of food / process / chemical technology
- Knowledge of GMP standards and process environment
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills Dutch and English
- Drive to influence, persuade people and get them enthusiastic for change
